The MetroHealth System based in Cleveland, Ohio serves more than 300,000 people annually, two thirds of whom are covered by Medicare or Medicaid or are uninsured. For many patients, lack of transportation or busy work schedules makes accessing in-person care challenging.
MetroHealth sought a scalable virtual care solution to provide more convenient and equitable care to its large and diverse patient base, as well as enable it to expand its regional presence and grow its share of care.
As the health system evaluated virtual care products and potential partners, it was confronted with an array of disparate, disconnected telehealth point solutions that did not serve the needs of its care teams and patients, were not integrated on Epic, or didn’t align with the organization’s long-term vision for improving patient experience and access to care for all patients. That is why the health system turned to Ovatient and our Epic-based, multi-disciplinary virtual care model that includes virtual primary care, behavioral health and urgent care.
