I approach telemedicine as an extension of a brick-and-mortar office primary care. I see my patients and provide the same experience and evaluation I would in a face-to-face environment, assuring patients that the care is superior. Have been able to adapt the physical examination for the virtual environment. I am able to provide complete and personal care for adult patients. I can confidently diagnose and treat complex health issues to help improve patients’ lives. I am enthusiastic about the latest updates in medicine and academia. I provide inclusive care and have experience with the Hispanic community and consider cultural differences and how they affect the biopsychosocial model of care. I am constantly learning and trying to find ways to engage patients in their care and their health.
Internal Medicine Residency | San Juan VA Caribbean Healthcare System Medicine Service | Jun 2004 – May 2007
I was born in Puerto Rico where I completed my studies and residency. I moved to Florida in 2013. I have worked in academic practices, VA healthcare, post-acute care and full-time telemedicine. I have 4 children and in my free time I enjoy playing tennis, volunteering, traveling, cooking, choir singing, participating in my kids’ sports (baseball, basketball), mission trips and reading. I aspire to continue learning and growing in virtual care as this is the present and future of medicine.
