For many women, taking care of their personal health is added to an already overflowing schedule of critical to-dos. Between managing demanding careers and household needs, caring for children, and supporting aging family members, routine check-ups and preventive screenings are frequently pushed to the back burner.

Women make up to 80% of primary healthcare decision-makers for their households, yet research from Deloitte shows that up to 50% of women skip or delay routine care.

At Ovatient, we see this reality every day, where the majority of our patients are women aged 27 to 54. We believe virtual-first care is a game changer, empowering women to connect to care that is built around their busy lives. By removing logistical barriers, virtual care integrates continuous, high-touch health services directly into a woman’s busy routine.

No Wrong Door Access to Your Health System

We do this by partnering with health systems to extend clinical teams beyond physical clinic walls to meet patients where they are. We offer virtual-first urgent care, primary care and integrated behavioral health that is built on health systems’ EHR and integrated seamlessly into a patient’s existing care journey. While our care is virtual-first, it’s not virtual-only. If patients need care in person, we connect them to additional services and referrals within the system.

Care Tailored to Women’s Health

Our full-time care team is specially trained to provide virtual care, is credentialed with each health system we serve, and meets National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards through a rigorous quality review process. Examples of women’s health services and programs we deliver include:

  • Streamlined Breast Health: We collaborate with one health system that offers self-ordered mammography by providing virtual follow-up for patients with abnormal screening results. Through these consultations, our clinicians review findings, discuss recommended next steps, and facilitate additional diagnostic testing or referrals to appropriate specialists when needed, eliminating unnecessary office visits and reducing delays in transition of care. For another health system, we helped achieve a mammography care gap closure rate of over 90%.
  • Reproductive & Preventive Access: From supporting self-swabbing Pap smears to consulting on contraception, virtual visits offer a private, low-barrier environment for essential routine services.
  • Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH): Physical and mental health are deeply intertwined. Working alongside health system’s women’s health clinics, we connect patients directly to IBH support for psychological and emotional symptoms tied to physical transitions, such as perinatal and postpartum depression, high-risk pregnancies, perimenopause, and chronic conditions like premature ovarian failure.

Connecting More Patients to Care

Virtual-first care is not meant to replace in-person clinical visits — it is designed to complement it. By eliminating access barriers for routine screenings and integrating behavioral health, health systems can capture patient loyalty, improve preventive care, and build lasting relationships with underserved patients.
